IPSWICH Town supporters hoping to secure their seats for 10 or 20 years are being urged to return their application forms within the next 10 days, writes Derek Davis.

Blues fans who applied for the debentures will receive formal application forms within the next 48 hours but need to secure the seats by the end of May. Blues chairman David Sheepshanks last night described the response as 'encouraging', and pointed out people who still wished to express an interest in making the long-term commitment were welcome.

Sheepshanks said: "We have had a very encouraging response and we are pretty much on target of attracting the amount of people we expected. What we need to do now is crystalise that interest and the important thing is people return the application forms by the end of the month."

The Town chairman also met with potential investors last week and said steady progress was being made in attracting new money into the club.

Meanwhile, more than 7,000 season ticket renewals had been made to the club last night, with a sackful arriving daily.

Supporters are being urged to be patient while ticket office staff process the forms. It may take up to two weeks for supporters to actually get their tickets, although those fans who sent confirmation forms with the applications should receive those within 48 hours.

A club spokesman last night said: "We are making good progress but it will take time so we ask supporters not to worry if they do not hear from us straight away."

Season ticket prices are discounted up until the end of May and supporters are being urged to pay by direct debit, cheque or cash, and to avoid using credit cards.
