Chelmsford 1 Slough 5
A clinical performance from Slough proved the difference as Chelmsford started their new league campaign with a defeat.
It has all started so well for the hosts, the Essex side taking the lead in the fifth minute when England international Chloe Rogers' powerful shot across goal took a deflection into the back of the net.
Slough, with their flowing attacking play, soon made the scores level in the tenth minute though and continued to put Chelmsford on the back foot.
The visitors eventually took the lead when ex-Chelmsford player Jane Smith found time and space on the right to find the back of the goal.
Chelmsford came out fighting in the second half, but for all their commitment and work rate, they were unable to capitalise.
Having ridden the storm, Slough then scored with their first attack of the half, forcing Chelmsford into an even more attacking game.
Exploiting the space left at the back, Slough's forwards scored another two goals, Chelmsford keeper Helen Fagg keeping the score line down with some fine saves.
