CHELSEA are no longer attempting to sign Aguero from Madrid after last nights Champions League encounter with Panathinaikos.
If the London club were to obtain the player for this seasons fixtures then he would not be able to participate in any European matches as a result of being cup tied. Chelsea are still chasing Champions League glory after coming so close in Moscow two years ago.
Aguero requested to be left out of the squad for last nights fixture as the player knew it would effectively end his transfer prospects to any big European clubs.
Chelsea have struggled to secure the signing of many big name stars this season, missing out on the likes of Kaka, Pirlo, Villa and Ribery.
