ENGLAND 6 Nations ace Chris Ashton will be returning to a prestigious 7s tournament at Bury St Edmunds RFC on Sunday.

The news that Ashton will be appearing at the Haberden – having played in the inaugural tournament as a relative unknown for Northampton Saints - has been greeted with delight by the organisers.

And he will be joined by the full England sevens squad, under the name ‘Dig Deep England’, who are currently second in the IRB World Series and are using the competition as a warm-up to their final two tournaments in London and Edinburgh.

Event organiser and Bury’s playing chairman Mike Robinson said: “All of us at The Haberden are hoping for a huge turnout from rugby fans as well as families looking for an action-packed, fun-filled day out.

“After all these weeks of preparation, the day is finally upon us and we couldn’t be more excited, especially with the news of the full England team as well as Chris Ashton – are taking part.”

England will be joined by Saracens, Northampton Saints, Welsh Warriors, Samurai International and 11 others from across the country competing for a 7,000 total prize fund for a feast of sevens rugby, alongside all-day entertainment for all the family.
