CLACTON looked to bounce back from last week's disastrous result against a well organised Redbridge team.

The hosts started emphatically scoring within the first couple of minutes, as the Clacton midfield controlled the ball well through Danny Clow and Steve Hawes, before setting up Nick Tedder Ward to slot home comfortably from close range - his ninth of the season.

Clacton continued to dominate the first half, and the composure and skill in defence of James Mead, Dan Potts and Nik Patel was evident as Redbridge struggled to find a way through. Despite Russell Measor being sin-binned five minutes before the half, Clacton's 10 men were still too strong for the visiting side.

Stuart Perkins then doubled the Seasiders' lead just before the break, with a fantastic solo effort, latching on to a Steve Moriarty pass in midfield, he evaded three tackles, before striking sweetly from the edge of the area, and slotting home past the ailing goalkeeper.

The second half was a much tighter affair, Redbridge began to surge forward, but again the defence stayed strong, and Clacton were able to launch many counter attacks through the visionary play of young man-of-the-match Ryan Nippress. Despite the goalless second period, Clacton finished on top, and look to carry the momentum to second placed Wapping next week.
