BILLY Clarke has been transfer-listed by Ipswich Town.

The young Irish attacker is one of five players' names being circulated by Jim Magilton to all clubs as being available - at a price.

Gavin Williams, Dan Harding and Matt Richards each have a year left on their contacts, while Gary Roberts has a contract until 2010, but all have been told that Ipswich will accept offers for them.

Blues boss Jim Magilton confirmed the quintet did not figure in his plans for next season.

Magilton said: “We will listen to offers and see what that brings. If nothing happens, then we will welcome them back with open arms.

“Every one of them has been fantastic for me, giving me maximum effort whenever I have asked of it.

“We can't promise them first-team football on a weekly basis.

“These guys want to play so it would be great if something happens for them.”

The door has not completely closed on them, however, because if no bids come in then they are welcome to try to change his mind.

Magilton said: “When I was put on the list it really irked me. I came back thinking I will be back as fit as a flea and make it really difficult to leave me out.

“It may give one or two of them impetus.

“We may see invigorated players back and we want healthy competition.”

While it was probably no surprise that four of the five named were listed, Town fans will be surprised that Clarke, who has been on loan at Falkirk, has been made available.

It is part of the natural turnover of players within a club but Town insist they don't need to sell to buy.

Magilton said: “We don't need to get people out to do deals.

“There were one or two players in January who we earmarked and got in and a couple we missed out on who we may pursue again.

“It we can get these players in and do our business early doors then we will. If not, we are prepared to be patient.”

Sito Castro has been told he can leave after his contract expired and Magilton has not offered Dean Bowditch a new contract although he will sit and have a talk with him.

Fabian Wilnis, Sylvain Legwinski and Jason De Vos have already left after their contracts expired.
