Colchester and Ipswich East Suffolk shared the spoils in a competitive end of season fixture.
The game began at a swift pace, with the midfield seeing most of the early action. IES matched Colchester for pace and the pairing of Abigail Adams and Lucy Bliss soon began to make headway deep into the Colchester half.
The IES end wasn't left unscathed however and stand-in goalkeeper Anne Edney put on a fine display to keep Colchester from going ahead, including a fine save from a Louise Bibby effort.
IES finally got the breakthrough they needed with a stunning shot from Bliss that rattled the Colchester goal, leaving keeper Kate Mead with no chance.
In the second half, IES seemed to lose their shape and came under sustained attacks from Colchester who were rewarded with a goal midway through the half, Helen Wall neatly controlling a loose ball before firing home.
