Bristol City want to recruit Colchester United midfielder, Alex Gilbey, during this month’s transfer window.
Talented 21-year-old Gilbey has enjoyed a new lease of life, under new manager Kevin Keen, playing alongside Owen Garvan in the U’s engine room.
Championship strugglers Bristol City want to prise him away from the Essex club, and are already reported to have had a bid turned down.
City are on the look-out for a new midielder, and recently had a £1m offer turned down for Gillingham’s attacking midfielder, Bradley Dack.
No figure has been disclosed, in terms of Bristol City’s bid for Gilbey, who is set to play his 98th league game for the U’s at Scunthorpe tomorrow.
