Colchester United continued their winning start to pre season with two wins over the weekend.
On Friday night they beat AFC Sudbury 5-0. Two goals in the first half by Sammie Szmodics were added to in the second period by Phil Roberts, John-Joe O’Toole and Marcus Bean as the U’s put in their most rounded display of pre-season yet.
Bishop’s Stortford were then defeated on Saturday. The 2-0 win gave the U’s their fourth win out of four in the build-up to the League One season.
The first half was goalless but it was the U’s who dominated possession.
The second half was only seven minutes old when the U’s took the lead, with Massey sidefooting home after good work from Michael O’Donoghue and Tosin Olufemi.
