Colchester United’s scheduled away game at Peterborough United on Saturday could well fall foul of the weather, and a waterlogged pitch.
In fact, Posh are trying to arrange a pitch inspection for as early as tomorrow, rather than wait until the morning of the match before making a decision.
The London Road surface is already saturated, and more rain is forecast for the Cambridgeshire area tomorrow.
Peterborough club officials inspected the pitch today, and it is believed that Saturday’s game is unlikely to go ahead.
The U’s have not played a competitive match since a 4-2 win at Carlisle, nearly two weeks ago.
If this weekend’s trip to Peterborough is postponed, then the U’s next game will not be until the visit of Rotherham on Saturday week.
