Colchester United through to last four of Essex Senior Cup

The U’s rounded off a good day, which included keeper Sam Walker signing an 18-month permanent contract from Chelsea, by beating Thurrock 3-2 in the quarter-finals of the Essex Senior Cup tonight.
The U’s were 2-0 up at half-time, thanks to an opening goal from Macauley Bonne, who then set up Freddie Ladapo with the second.
Callum Harrison made it 3-0 early in the second half, before Thurrock responded with goals from substitute Loui Hazelwood and Ross Wall.
But the U’s held on to set up a semi-final date with Concord Rangers.
