CRAIG Eastmond might have moved from Arsenal, to Colchester United, but the loanee midfielder has not had to change his style of play.

Eastmond made an impressive debut against Hartlepool, and followed this up with a man-of-the-match display in the 1-0 win at Swindon, operating as a deep midfielder just in front of the back four.

Now the 21-year-old is gearing up for his third U’s appearance, at struggling Yeovil this afternoon.

“Everything has fitted in well for me. The style of play suits me. It’s the same as Arsenal, playing from the back,” explained Eastmond.

“I like to get on the ball, in midfield, and start us moving forward, which is what the manager wants me to do.

“I made an early error against Hartlepool (poor pass for opening goal), but I made sure that was soon out of my mind, and that I kept getting on the ball.

“At Arsenal, if you are not playing regularly in the first team, the boss (Arsene Wenger) advises you to try and get games week in, week out, elsewhere.

“I’ve done it before, and I will just keep knocking on his door, by showing him what I can do out on loan.”

Eastmond and fellow Arsenal loanee Sanchez Watt are both poised to keep their places at Huish Park, against a Yeovil side who have lost their last six fixtures.

“It helps that I’m here with Sanchez. I know how he plays, and he’s like family really because I’m always seeing him,” added Eastmond.

Eastmond picked up a dead leg during the early exchanges at Swindon, but was able to play the whole game and is fighting fit for Yeovil.
