Cranes II moved off the bottom of the table with a well earned but hard fought draw against the Nomads.
The game was reasonably even with both sides scoring a deserved goal. Nomads scored first after Cranes failed to clear, then the excellent Andel Williams scored for Cranes after a well-worked short corner with Pierre Ashfield.
The second half started at a fast pace but soon Cranes were fighting a rear-guard action against a revitalised and determined Nomads, unaccustomed to not getting their way in this division. It was only brave and committed defending, from Young, Page, Williamson and Sago that kept the visitors at bay.
As the half wore on, the visitors became more frustrated and this showed as Strudwick made a brave save, taking a direct hit to the helmet from a visitor's stick. Ultimately, Cranes resistance was too stubborn to break down and they thoroughly deserved their point.
