Division 5NE
Cranes II 3 North Walsham II 1
Crane continued their deserved move up the table with a comprehensive and thoroughly deserved win against second placed North Walsham.
Crane started brightly, scoring early through Keith Fisher after a good interchange of passes. Walsham came back strongly but were thwarted by the combined effort of the backline, Williamson, Page, Ashfield, Wilson and Strudwick.
The second half started with both sides attacking strongly but Crane went further ahead as Murthwaite poached another goal from short range. Crane moved almost out of sight with ten minutes left when youngster Ed Williamson showed plenty of steel to step up and convert a penalty stroke.
Walsham scrambled a goal near the end but it was little more than a consolation. This was Crane's best performance of the season and they can be very proud of the effort and skill shown.
