FORMER Test star Graham Thorpe's call-up as batting coach for the England Lions' tour to the United Arab Emirates next month will not prevent him from entertaining the crowd at Sudbury Cricket Club's annual dinner on February 5.

Thorpe, who played 100 Test matches for England, averaging 44.66, and 82 one-day internationals in an international career that spanned 12 years, does not leave for the tour until the day after the dinner and is confirmed to speak.
