Ipswich Town head to south London on Tuesday night aiming to reach the third round of the Carabao Cup with a win at Premier League Crystal Palace – and they’ll do it fielding a team of youngsters.
The Blues have won all five of their games in league and cup this season and face an Eagles team that have lost their opening two matches in the Premier League.
But in his lunchtime press conference, Town boss Mick McCarthy revealed that he will field a very inexperienced Town team in the cup clash - indeed the youngest side he has ever fielded in his lengthy managerial career.
