ALAN Curbishley has quit as manager of Premier League side West Ham, the club have confirmed.

ALAN Curbishley has quit as manager of Premier League side West Ham, the club have confirmed.

The ex-Charlton boss, who took over at Upton Park in December 2006, has been under pressure from fans since the start of the season.

But the Hammers made a good start to the campaign, winning two of their first three matches.

In a statement, the club said: “We can confirm that we have accepted Alan Curbishley's resignation as we feel it is in the best interests of both parties.
