Ipswich Witches 54 Somerset Rebels 42
DAKOTA North haunted his former side with an impressive performance at Foxhall Stadium. The Witches new signing, who joined the Suffolk side from the Rebels in the winter, notched a paid 12 points, despite being under the weather, as Ipswich got their League Cup programme off to the best of starts, defeating highly-fancied Somerset Rebels.
From the off, the home side were on the money and it was heat four before the visitors won a heat. Indeed only an 8-1 tactical ride win for the Rebels in heat six kept them even remotely in the hunt in the first half of the meeting. But after the break, it was all Ipswich, who thoroughly deserved this victory.
