Kane Vincent-Young would fit in well at Ipswich Town if the Blues offered the trialist a deal, according to former team-mate Darren Ambrose.
Full-back Vincent-Young has been with the Ipswich squad during their Spanish training camp, playing 90 minutes in Sunday’s friendly with Kilmarnock after the 22-year-old turned down a new deal at Colchester.
No decision has been made regarding his future but, if he were to be offered a deal, former Ipswich star Ambrose saw enough during their time together at Colchester to know the Blues are onto a good thing.

“He was the right back when I was there and I played quite a few games with Kane,” he said.
“He’s got a fantastic attitude and is willing to learn, willing to work and just an all-round good kid.
“There’s a lot of them in and around the Ipswich squad and, if they were to offer him a deal, he would fit in well. He’s a fantastic player as well and that’s probably the main reason they were looking at him.
“As a senior player at Colchester, the thing which stood out for me with Kane was his desire to work, learn and listen.

“I helped him during a few games and he just has a fantastic attitude – that’s needed.
“It’s a step up for him if it comes off and he gets a contract but I’m in no doubt he will listen, learn and live off it.”
Vincent-Young came through the Tottenham youth system and, given he is under the age of 24, the U’s would be entitled to compensation should he move to Ipswich.
He’s a strong, powerful right-footed player who can operate in either full-back position and was named Colchester’s young player-of-the season during the last campaign.
