GEORGES Santos last night admitted he could be a QPR player by the end of the week once a few problems with the contract had been ironed out, writes Derek Davis.

The Frenchman will train with Ipswich again today after spending a day at Loftus Road and the move may be completed within a couple of days.

He said: "The deal is a little bit dead at the moment. There are one or two things to be sorted out between QPR, Ipswich and my agent and that will take a couple of days. But I expect I will join QPR by the end of the week."

Santos told the EADT on Sunday that the deal was by no means cut and dried although he confirmed he would have a medical.

A broken nose did not prevent him from passing that successfully yesterday but he refused to sign the two-year deal, as he is unhappy with some of the contractual details.

Blues boss Joe Royle last night added: "Georges is back with us as there is a slight delay but it should all go through on Wednesday."
