COLCHESTER United boss Joe Dunne felt that his side fully deserved today’s 2-0 home win over Bury.
The U’s put a run of three defeats behind them, thanks to goals from Anthony Wordsworth and Freddie Sears early in the second half.
“I thought this win was well deserved today,” enthused Dunne, who narrowly missed out on the October manager of the month award earlier in the week.
Dunne continued: “Bury pushed further forward in the second half, and that gave us more space to work into.
“We had to be patient, and I felt overall our patience was rewarded in the second half with two good goals.
“The players had received a lot of criticism, for letting two-goal leads slip in recent weeks.
“But we defended really well today. We dug in and grafted at the end,” added a delighted Dunne.
