Division 1N
Dereham 3 Ipswich East Suffolk 1
Buoyed by last week's win, Ipswich East Suffolk travelled to Norfolk hoping to put in a good performance against the league leaders and they did not disappoint.
The match was played at a tremendous pace that, on occasion, the Ipswich side struggled to keep up with.
Nonetheless, IES showed little respect for their opponents, with Maria Whelan leading the defence with some crunching defensive tackles that served to put Dereham off their stride.
Although two down at half time, IES knew that they had the league leaders worried and came back after the break with a superbly worked goal down the right hand side, expertly touched in by Anne Edney.
At the other end, keeper Faye Godden made some fantastic saves to keep IES in the game and although the final score settled at 3-1 to Dereham, the work rate and gutsy performance demonstrated by the whole team was certainly something to savour.
