WIVENHOE Town manager Julian Dicks has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant manager's job at Rushden and Diamonds.

Rushden, who won 9-0 at Weymouth on Saturday to move up to 11th place in Blue Square Premier, are currently under the caretaker charge of former Tottenham defender Justin Edinburgh following the resignation of Garry Hill.

Dicks, the former England, Liverpool and West Ham defender, said: "Rushden's a big club in non-league and I would look forward to a job like that.

"I have seen the facilities at Nene Park and they are magnificent.

"I've got a lot to offer football and I have enjoyed my time at Wivenhoe.

"I've played under a lot of managers and I take a lot from them; people like Graeme Souness, Ron Saunders and Harry (Redknapp).

"Rushden would be the next step up for me."
