SUFFOLK gave a disappointing show against Cambridgeshire in a 1-0 defeat in an East Anglian Counties Women's Championship match at Bury on Thursday.

A solitary goal in the second half was enough to tip the scales the visitors' way.

In the first half Suffolk goalkeeper Nicky Scott made a great save from a free kick after five minutes before making two more fine saves in Cambs' attacks.

At the other end a goal-bound shot from Rebecca Hawkins was saved on the stroke of half time. After the interval Amy Howlett wasted a chance for Suffolk by dragging a shot wide before Natalie Richardson scored the vital goal with a super shot from wide on the left after 79 minutes.
