MILDENHALL Fen Tigers enjoyed a double-winning weekend.

On Saturday night they reached the KO Cup final with a comfortable 105-83 aggregate victory over Stoke Potters.

And they followed that up with a crushing 60-30 victory over Buxton in the National Trophy at West Row yesterday afternoon.

The Fen Tigers cruised through to the National KO Cup Final where’ll they’ll defend the trophy against Dudley, after a comfortable 50-44 win at Stoke on Saturday night completed the big 105-83 semi-final rout of the Potters.

The writing was on the wall for the home side as early as heat one as Mildenhall’s in form skipper Lewis Blackbird claimed the scalp of Ashley Birks. With Joe Jacobs in third the 4-2 heat win set down the marker for the night.

From that point onwards the result was never in doubt. New British Under-19 champion Stefan Nielsen was in superb form again, his only defeat of the night coming in his final outing as he rattled up 17 points.

ON SUNDAY Buxton were put to the sword at West Row with Nielsen and Blackbird both rattling up paid 17-point returns.

Indeed the visitors only won two races, heats two and 15 and were out-classed throughout.

Daniel Halsey won all five of his rides and Joe Jacobs was again among the points as Mildenhall’s season comes to an exciting finale.
