LONG-serving Colchester United captain Karl Duguid is to leave the club after 14 years to join Plymouth Argyle, it emerged tonight.Duguid, 30, has signed for the Home Park club for an undisclosed fee.
LONG-serving Colchester United captain Karl Duguid is to leave the club after 14 years to join Plymouth Argyle, it emerged tonight.
Duguid, 30, has signed for the Home Park club for an undisclosed fee.
He leaves Colchester after making 385 league appearances - 442 in all competitions - and scoring 45 goals.
U's chairman Robbie Cowling said: “”Karl has been a long time servant to the club and he is now coming towards the end of his career and wants the opportunity to play in the Championship and deserves his chance.”
Colchester chief executive Marie Partner added: “Karl has been a part of the furniture for many years and has been a good servant to Colchester United.
“He felt that the time was right to move on at this stage in his career and we wish him the best for the future.”
