Colchester United boss Joe Dunne has revealed that he could have a complete squad by the end of this week.
The Dubliner is in the market for a new keeper, and a new left-back, amongst other positions, and deals are close to being secured, although nothing is guaranteed.
Speaking at this morning’s press conference, Dunne said: “Left-back and keeper are not the only positions I want to fill, there are others.
“But I am very close.
“You can never say, but it could be complete by the end of the week.
“If it’s complete by the end of the week, after the four (pre-season) games, then I’ll be happy. We’re close on many fronts.
“But until players are signed and in the building, nothing is guaranteed,” added Dunne.
The U’s begin their first-team pre-season campaign with a friendly at Heybridge Swifts tomorrow evening.
