But that was not the final game for the Town kids.

Several of them are in an Under-18 squad which travels to Holland today for an international youth tournament at Varsseveld near Arnhem.

FA Youth Cup Final scorer Ed Upson is among the schoolboys included as well as Chris Casement, Stuart Ainsley, Danny Haynes, Liam Trotter and Charlie Sheringham, who also took part.

Town are in a group with a Brazilian team Pao de Acucar, Ajax, De Graafschap, and PSV Eindhoven.

Other teams taking part are Bayer Leverkusen, Feyenoord, Paris St Germain, SC Hereenveen and the host club.

The squad, accompanied by Sammy Morgan, Ken Goody, Steve Greaves and physio Sarah Hughes, are due to return on Monday.
