Woodbridge Warriors faced an ever improving Broadland-Great Yarmouth squad that surprised Newmarket the week before.
Although still not at full strength, the Warriors put on a clinical defensive performance holding off the larger and persistent visitors.
The only points during a first half of exciting rugby came from the boot of Jamie Smith, the Warriors’ consistent full-back kicking two penalties.
A convincing performance in the set plays put the Warriors in command for most of the match, but Broadland were tenacious and thwarted several attacks.
A probing kick by fly-half JP Hart matched the strong running Connor O’Reilly against Broadland’s young winger and the Warriors flanker won the race to secure the only try of the day.
