Easton celebrating a season of success

EASTON Cricket Club have once again confirmed their status as one of the leading junior cricket clubs in the county, after enjoying unprecedented success across all junior age groups.

Their under-nine team won the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ award at the 2012 Copdock Festival, as did the under-11 team, who also were joint winners of the Festival and winners of the 2012 North Suffolk Youth League and runners-up in the 2012 Suffolk Cup.

The under-13 boys were runners up in the Copdock Festival and winners of the 2012 North Suffolk Youth League, as well as winners of the 2012 Suffolk Cup, when they beat Mildenhall in a closely-fought contest.

The under-13 girls triumphed at the 2012 Copdock Festival and the under-15 boys also won the 2012 North Suffolk Youth League and were runners-up in the Suffolk Cup.

John Taylor, the club’s junior committee chairman, said: “This has been a fantastic season for Easton Cricket Club and we have enjoyed some truly memorable games and wonderful performances from our junior teams.

“The commitment of our coaching staff is evidenced by the results during the season and I would encourage anyone interested in trying cricket as a sport to contact our junior administrator Charles Loyd on 07702 312413.”
