ESSEX Eagles will select from a squad of 12 players for their one-day 40-overs per side friendly with Unicorns at Wormsley Cricket Club on Sunday.

Having been without a match this week, head coach Paul Grayson is delighted that his players have the opportunity of competitive practice in the middle ahead of the LV= County Championship match with Yorkshire that begins on Thursday at Headingley.

“The players have enjoyed a good week working on their skills and fitness, and Sunday’s game is a good opportunity to put some play into our legs. We have an important match with Yorkshire later in the week and so the game with Unicorns will give us a nice workout.”

Essex Eagles squad: Mark Pettini, Billy Godleman, Tom Westley, Adam Wheater, Greg Smith, James Foster (capt, wkt), Michael Comber, Graham Napier, David Masters, Tim Phillips, Charl Willoughby, Tymal Mills.

The match starts at 1pm and the gates open at 12pm.
