POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for the safety and welfare of a man from north Essex who has not been seen for two months.

Jeremy Sparks had been renting a room in a flat in Middleton, south of Sudbury, and was last seen on Wednesday, July 4.

He was reported missing by his ex-wife on the evening of Wednesday, July 25 after she became concerned that he had not been in contact with either her or any of their children.

Mr Sparks also has a sister who lives in Sudbury and she has not heard from her brother either.

Investigating Officer, Sgt Pete Chivers, said: “This is completely out of character and in no way like the Jeremy everyone knows. He's never gone missing before and likes the quiet life.”

Mr Sparks, a 52-year-old former turkey farm worker from Middleton Hall Cottages, has no access to money and his mobile telephone was found in his room. He is also thought to have no form of identification on him.

Jeremy is described as white, approximately 5ft 8in tall and of medium build.

Anyone with information about Mr Sparks' whereabouts or movements in the last two months is asked to contact investigating officers at Braintree Police Station on 01376 551312.
