Ryman Premier Division new-boys Witham Town have been left in shock after their chairman Tony Last passed away suddenly last night.

The club announced on their website this morning that their long-serving chairman had suffered a heart attack while at the Village Glass Stadium on Thursday evening.

Despite all efforts to revive Tony, the paramedics were unable to save him.

A statement on the club website said: “It is a very sad time for Tony’s family as well as the club and we are sure you will all want to join us in sending our deepest condolences to his wife Linda and their family.

“Gone but never forgotten.”
