Goodison boss David Moyes was knocked back 18 months ago but has continued to monitor the Wales midfielder.

West Ham, Wigan and Stoke also made unsuccessful inquiries in January, with Cardiff holding out for 6million. But Ledley, 22, has just one year left on his contract.

He has snubbed a new agreement and Moyes hopes Cardiff will listen to offers of around 3.5m.
