Thurlow Nunn Premier FC Clacton 0 Felixstowe & Walton United 3 Felixstowe & Walton picked up a comfortable three points at the Rush Green Bowl on Tuesday night to move up into third spot behind leaders Coggeshall as they kept their 100% start to the season intact, writes Phil Griffiths.

Stuart Ainsley opened the scoring with a rare goal from open play, drilling a low left foot shot past Avenell in the 21st minute.

Powell added the second in the 51st minute, holding off two defenders before beating the home ‘keeper from 14 yards, and Francis added the third from the penalty spot three minutes later.

Crump had to produce a fingertip save to deny Rymer early on, but had a quiet evening other than that one effort while Avenell, at the other end, pulled off a string of saves including a second penalty of the night, leaving the visitors to rue some missed gilt edged chances that would have improved their goal difference.
