FOOTBALL: Improvements are taking place off the pitch at Felixstowe & Walton United as the club aims to increase non-matchday income by turning their Dellwood Avenue Clubhouse into a seven-day-a-week venue.
With a potential new ground still a few years away, the Seasiders are updating their facilities by sprucing up the clubhouse, completely refurbishing the kitchen area to provide a much-improved catering operation and installing Sky Sports.
From July, the club will be opening every weekday evening and all day Saturday and Sundays.
Commercial Officer Chris Daynes commented: “With the current economic crisis it is becoming increasingly risky to rely solely on sponsorship from businesses. We have a facility at Dellwood Avenue with the potential to provide an additional revenue stream that can help the club build on the significant progress seen over the past three or four years.”
Anyone interested in booking the venue for a party, disco or as a meeting place can check availability by contacting Chris Daynes on 07982 250205 or e-mail seasidersprogramme@hotmail.co.uk.
