After 20 minutes IES were surprised to be awarded a penalty flick for either a Felixstowe defender kicking the ball away from a goal scoring chance or a ball parried forward on the line from the return shot. Neil Slade superbly scooped the flick home.
Felixstowe now resolved to pressure IES and were rewarded for their hard work with a goal after 25 minutes from open play.

Not to be outdone Guy Whiting again split the Felixstowe defence to make the score line 3-1 to IES.
After 34 minutes IES conceded a penalty corner, which was ably converted by the home team.
On the opening of play of the second half Guy once more stretched the Felixstowe defence to make the score line 4-2.
However, the home side were not going to be intimidated and on 45 and 58 minutes they scored goals to level the game.
IES bravely battled on and indeed looked like scoring, first from a penalty corner and then a run round the back of defence by Guy Whiting, but 4-4 the score line was fated to remain.
Ipswich East Suffolk will have been pleased to see young blood in the form of Jake Charles in goal and Sam Oakley in midfield making their mark.
