RISING rugby star Charlie Kingham will next month make his bow on the international stage after being named vice-captain of the England’s Elite Under-16s squad.
The 16-year-old fly-half impressed all at the England Elite training camp last summer and has now been chosen to represent England in forthcoming matches against Italy and Wales.
Kingham, who goes to Felsted School, will be hoping the matches pave the way to greater success with the Under-16s a perfect platform for Saxons and senior Elite caps.
Andrew Le Chevalier, head of rugby at Felsted, said: “I would like to congratulate Charlie on his wonderful achievement and to wish him all the best for the internationals. Being selected to play rugby for his country is a fantastic personal achievement and also a great accolade for Felsted.”
England Under-16s will play Italy Under-17s at Macclesfield’s Priory Park ground on Wednesday, April 20 (3pm ko). They then meet Wales Under-16s at Fylde’s Woodlands Memorial Ground on Sunday, April 24 (2.30pm).
