SUFFOLK FA reached the third round of the FA County Youth Cup after coming out on top 5-4 against Cambridgeshire FA at a wet and miserable Hadleigh United on Saturday.

The hero was Lowestoft Town's Christy Finch with four goals in his last match for Suffolk. Finch will be signing for Cambridge United this week which makes him ineligible for Suffolk in future matches.

Owen Kessack put Cambridgeshire ahead after eight minutes, but Finch soon equalised after a poor kick by the visiting keeper.

As the rain poured down, Finch scored two more goals before the interval, with James Stevenson on target for Cambridgeshire.

A header by Dan Hitching on the hour put Suffolk 4-2 ahead, but James Stevenson headed a goal back in reply.

In the last minutes Dubi Ogbonna hit a great equaliser, but there was drama to come at the other end.

With extra-time looking certain in the worsening conditions, Finch ploughed through the mud for a solo goal to earn Suffolk a trip to Birmingham, the holders, in the next round.
