THERE must have been plenty of fun and games at Cressing Road on Saturday where Braintree Reserves entertained Hadleigh United's second strings in the South Division of the Ridgeons Reserve League.
With no first team game in the Blue Square South league, Braintree fielded a number of first team players against a young Hadleigh side containing two 17-year-olds.
At the interval the Essex side were 6-1 ahead, and this became 7-2 before Braintree replaced three of their first teamers with regular reserve players.
From then on Hadleigh took charge and at the end of a topsy-turvy encounter the Brettsiders had narrowed the deficit to a respectable 8-5 scoreline after winning the second half.
