Ipswich v Barnsley: Ipswich Town were held to a disappointing 1-1 home draw by lowly Barnsley at Portman Road tonight.

It was looking good for Mick McCarthy’s men during the first half, and they were good value for their 1-0 half-time lead, courtesy of Daryl Murphy’s commanding header on 41 minutes.

However, Barnsley were the better team in the second period and they equalised via Jim O’Brien’s good strike in the 70th minute.

Former Ipswich Town striker Jason Scotland spurned a good chance to win it for the Tykes late on.

This was certainly two points dropped for Town, against a bottom three team.
