Colchester United boss, Tony Humes, praised his side for their resilience after today’s 2-2 draw at high-flying Swindon Town.

Michael Smith, the former U’s loanee striker, scored a brace of goals in the 28th and 48th minutes.

But Rhys Healey equalised the first in the 47th minute, and Gavin Massey ensured a point with the second equaliser on 52 minutes.

It stretched the U’s unbeaten run to four league games, with eight points gained out of a possible last 12.

“We are good entertainment value, but we’re not good for the nerves!” admitted Humes.

“But what a game of football! I thought it was a proper game.

“We stuck together well, and our plans worked well apart from a couple of lapses in concentration.

“Either side could have won it, but I thought we had a few more of the best chances late on to nick it.

“We took the game more to Swindon in the second half, although they also came at us more, which made it more open.

“It was another great finish from Rhys (Healey). He’s a real goalscorer, and he had two or three chances today,” added Humes.
