The Suffolk Sports Awards 2013 threw up some richly-deserving winners at a glittering ceremony held at Trinity Park, Ipswich.

From Sports personality of the Year Harry Martin to chron’s sufferer Al MacPherson - the duathlete who won the Triumph over Adversity award – the event highlighted the ability, commitment and drive that Suffolk possesses as a sporting county.

There were 14 winners in all and they were captured celebrating their special moment by photographer Keith Mindham.

Sports personality: Harry Martin; Young Sports Personality: Harry Hughes; Senior Team of the Year: Ipswich Basketball Club; Junior Team of the Year: Ipswich Girls’ Hockey under-16s; Sports club of the year: Lowestoft and Yarmouth RUFC; Secondary School of the Year: Thomas Wolsey; Primary School of the Year: Halifax Primary; Triumph over Adversity: Al MacPherson; Unsung Hero: David Barker and Paul Whittaker; Coach of the Year: Gavin Hogg; Project of the Year: Ipswich Parkrun; Contribution to Disability Sport: Woodbridge RUFC; Lifetime Achievement: Peter Mornard; Young Volunteer of the Year: James Price.
