Colchester United’s classy midfielder, George Moncur, looks set to leave the League Two club this summer.
The U’s, relegated to the fourth tier for the first time in 18 years, are facing up to the prospect of losing Moncur, who top-scored with 14 goals during a disappointing season for the Essex club, 12 of them netted in League One.
Moncur’s contract runs until the summer of 2017, so the U’s would be in line for a six-figure fee for the 22-year-old ex-West Ham trainee.
Charlton Athletic, relegated to League One, are in the race to sign Moncur, while Legaue One rivals Peterborough, Barnsley and MK Dons are also believed to be in the frame.
