Newton Green Golf Club junior section has doubled in numbers this summer and a number of new faces have come to the fore in winning trophies.For the first time in the club's history two girls contested the singles knockout final, with Alice Barlow defeating Eloise Aldous after they had seen off all their male rivals.

Newton Green Golf Club junior section has doubled in numbers this summer and a number of new faces have come to the fore in winning trophies.

For the first time in the club's history two girls contested the singles knockout final, with Alice Barlow defeating Eloise Aldous after they had seen off all their male rivals.

On the team front, Newton again reached the semi-finals of the Suffolk handicap club championship, while Adam Woodhead figured prominently in both junior and senior English Golf Union championships.

He has recently been representing the 10-strong English Golf College Team against Ireland in the College Cup played at the Shire London Club.

Newton is looking to boost its junior numbers again in March when professional Tim Cooper begins another season of introductory sessions for juniors at his academy classes.
