Division 4 NE Gorleston 3 Crane 1

CRANE are still seeking their first win of the season after a disappointing result away to an improved Gorleston side. With five changes to the side that won comfortably there last season, the tables were turned and Crane deserve credit for keeping the scoreline within reasonable limits, although Gorleston failed to convert several clear cut opportunities.

Trevor Bunce put in a strong display, blemished only by being at fault for the first goal conceding possession in a dangerous area which left Gorleston with an easy finish after the keeper was caught out of position.

Crane keeper Dan Murray made one classy save, deflecting over a looping shot. Crane did put a good move together shortly afterwards and managed to draw level when Andel Williams worked some space on the left wing and his accurate centre was guided goalwards by Andy Bristow past a static Gorleston defence and keeper.

This was Gorleston's last mistake of the game though and two further goals worked down the right flank were enough to secure victory. Crane will need to improve to stay competitive in what is shaping up to be a tough season with many strong sides involved.
