Grasshoppers II 0 Christchurch II 3

Grasshoppers took the initiative in the first few minutes, but Deborah Munro scored a scintillating goal with a shot on the run, from the top of the D, to gain the visitors the advantage.

After 16 minutes Julie Spice dribbled into the D and slotted the ball home for a second goal. Christchurch looked well on top with Natasha Last finding space and holding the ball up well and Kerry Balchin and Lizzie Tarrant both having shots blocked. At the end of the half Grasshoppers put in a concerted effort but their best attack was thwarted by goalkeeper Mel Fulcher and Anne-Marie Byrne.

With a two goal advantage it looked like Christchurch would push on, however, Grasshoppers wrested control of the midfield and began to pose a threat, but with just two minutes to go Maria Tydman, on her debut, was on hand to put the ball over the line after a Christchurch short corner.

Grasshoppers efforts were certainly not reflected by the scoreline as Rachel 'S Club' Stevens and Liz Cater had good games. Wendy Dix also sustained an injury in the first few minutes and so missed most of the match.
