HARWICH & Parkeston have withdrawn from the Ridgeons League.
The decision was taken at an executive meeting of the club last night.
A statement, posted on the Kirkley & Pakefield website by Andy Schooler, the Harwich & Parkeston secretary, said:
“It is with great regret that I have to inform you that, at a meeting of its Executive Committee held on Tuesday evening 9th February, a decision was taken to withdraw from the Ridgeons League Premier Division with immediate effect. We will therefore not be in a position to fulfil Saturday's fixture.
“I can only apologise for the inconvenience that this will no doubt cause.”
Harwich were bottom of the Premier Division of the Ridgeons League, having drawn one and failed to win any of their 23 matches this season.
They become the second side to withdraw from the Premier Division this season, following the withdrawal of King's Lynn Reserves.
