London 3 Stowmarket 52 Wymondham 7 Stowmarket continued their successful start to the season with a fruitful home game to Wymondham.

From the very start Stowmarket fielded the kick off and immediately tried to force the ball wide leading to a spill and the ball being turned over.

This was the start of the best 15–20 minutes enjoyed by the visitors, and a period where Stowmarket were hardly able to break out of their half.

This was when the visitors really needed to put some points on the board, and whilst they held possession and territory they never really looked like scoring.

Eventually the superior fitness and running ability of the home team saw them take the lead through man of the match Stu Hill, well converted by Dan Garrard.

This spurred Wymondham on, and despite Stowmarket winning a scrum near their own line a loose pass allowed the Wymondham 10 to walk in under the posts.

Stowmarket then started to move through the gears and play their game, with Scott Fitzgerald and Hill scoring well taken tries, with Garrard converting one.

This was the end of the tries for the first half, and words from coach Holton saw Stowmarket start the second half at a much higher pace.

Indeed, it was a half generally dominated by Stowmarket and their broken field runners.

It was only a matter of time before Hill broke the defence again to complete his hat-trick.

This spurred on leading scorer Max Crowe to use both speed and strength to chip in with the next two tries.

The forwards then decided they would complete the scoring with pacy back row James Simpson running in a try from his own half, before hard-running prop Ben Honeyball crashed over to complete the scoring.

Stowmarket will be disappointed by a final yellow card for winger Nick Faliveno, which saw them reduced to 14 men for the last five minutes.
