Haughley United lift cup

HAUGHLEY United lifted the Bob Coleman Cup thanks to a 3-1 victory over Achilles in this afternoon’s final.

The cup, renamed from the Touchline Sports Cup after today’s final in memory of stalwart SIL official Bob Coleman, was deservedly won by Haughley, who fell behind after just three minutes when Ricky Deasy scored for Achilles.

After being outplayed for the opening 25 minutes Craig Simpson equalised for Haughley in the 34th minute.

A fine individual goal by James Hawkins put Haughley ahead on the hour and skipper Mark Theobald added the third in the 72nd minute.
